Stringify Brings Award Winning Service To Android With Numerous New Partnerships

2017 CES Innovations Honoree Brings Award Winning Service to Most Widely Used Smartphone Platform while also adding key partner integrations including IFTTT, Steam, Twitch, Sengled, Smappee and Foobot.

Los Gatos, Calif., Jan. 3, 2017 Stringify, a thoughtful automation service for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced support for Android devices, with the app now available in beta on the Google Play store. The company is also announcing partner integrations with IFTTT, Steam, Twitch, Foobot, Smappee and Sengled.

Stringify has developed numerous patent pending, innovative solutions that enable the company to address the challenges with IoT. The award-winning Stringify app connects your smart home, wearable devices, and associated services to create powerful automated experiences. The app’s ease of use helps the user visualize their connections while also providing increased functionality to every product connected to the system. Stringify supports well over 500 products and services, and the value of each increases substantially as it connects to the larger ecosystem, opening up new use cases for both user and manufacturer.

The Heart of Stringify

Stringify is built around Flows, which are customized automations that enhance the power and capability of smart devices and services. Users can choose from a broad selection of pre-configured Flows and simply add them directly from the app, edit them as they please or create their own from scratch. The service delivers these powerful automations in an easy to understand, drag and drop style interface that complete with how to videos, tutorials, tips and starter Flows.

In addition, the app acts somewhat as a universal remote control, where users can go to manage simple tasks such as turning on and off lights, setting the temperature on a thermostat or checking their steps on their wearable. Daily tasks become incredibly simplified.

One example of a Stringify Flow is to tell Amazon Alexa, “Alexa, tell Stringify Good Morning,” which sets in motion a series of activities that automate a morning routine. These can include fading on Philips Hue lights, setting the temperature on a Nest Thermostat, turning on the TV with Logitech Harmony, and generating a daily weather report, which a speaker connected via SmartThings will read aloud. Other examples include saving on heating costs when the door is left open, turning off the lights and arming security cameras when leaving for work, or simply notifying a spouse automatically with the commute time when leaving work for the day. These are just a handful of the many ways Stringify can help users take better care of themselves, their families and their homes.

A Level Deeper

One of the things that truly sets Stringify apart from any other automation platform is its ability to deliver an incredibly powerful technology suite through an easy to use interface. Parameters such as light level, timing, and temperature can be customized by the user, devices can be replaced by other devices within an experience and additional services can be added to further round experiences. Or, a Flow can simply be added at the touch of the button and left in its pre-configured state.

“Stringify fills a critical need that smart device manufacturers are quickly coming around to understanding – unless you can connect to other things, your Internet ‘thing’ won’t sell well, or at all. Stringify has built a flexible, scalable platform that enables users to build great experiences and it has been designed to anticipate the growth of the IoT and connected living spaces,” said Rob Enderle, president and principal analyst at Enderle Group. “There are other vendors in this category, but I have yet to run into anyone else that has a more complete solution than Stringify, and when it comes to the concept of IoT, complete is king.”

Partners are Key

Stringify, and similar automation platforms, wouldn’t be functional without the support and interest of partners and continuing to collaborate and work together to bring connected living to the masses is paramount to the future of IoT. New partners are continuously added to the Stringify platform, with the most recent addition being an announcement with IFTTT.

“We are two leaders in the space both with an important charter to educate and inspire people around connected living – by partnering together we are bringing out the best of both services for the end consumer,” said Linden Tibbets, CEO at IFTTT.

“Our partnership really brings the best of both worlds for our users where they can combine access to hundreds of services on IFTTT with Stringify’s powerful automation platform. The possibilities are limitless so it’s a very exciting time for all of us,” said Mike Yurochko, CEO of Stringify. “Our other new partnerships revolve around enhancing smart home experiences for all members of the family. With Steam and Twitch, the modern gamer’s home and online environments can be connected. Smappee gives households a better understanding of their energy consumption while Foobot leads to healthier living environments for the entire family and Sengled is revolutionizing smart home lighting. We are thrilled to announce these additions to our portfolio as we continue to deliver our best in class smart home support.”
